Microsoft released an update today to Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 users that users of these devices have been longing for for months now.An example of the power management issue is when the user puts the device to sleep, puts it in a bag, and when he removes it from the bag, the device is piping hot as if it had been used the whole time. This issue also drains battery life.


I know that everyone is very excited about this update, so without further delay, here is what got updated in the Surface Book firmware update:

• Microsoft driver update for Surface UEFI
  
• Microsoft driver update for Surface Management Engine
  
• Microsoft driver update for Surface System Aggregator Firmware
  
• Surface Management Engine update (v11.0.0.1202) improves system stability.
  
• Surface System Aggregator Firmware update (v88.1081.257.0) improves accuracy of battery status and battery life during sleep.
  
• Surface UEFI update (v104.1085.768.0) improves battery life and improves stability during power state transition changes into and out of sleep states.
  
• Intel® Precise Touch Device driver update (v1.1.0.226) improves stability during power state transition changes into and out of sleep states.

Many fans flocked to the Surface Book when it came out. It was Microsoft's first laptop. They flocked to it for the same reason that Android fans flock to Nexus devices. Having a first party device makes you feel like you're experiencing the OS in the way that it was meant to be.

After spending anywhere between $1,499 and $3,199 on a Surface Book, many were disappointed with the experience that they received for the hefty price tag. Hopefully, this update will fix the issues that users of both Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 have had.
